“"Take care of all your memories. For you cannot relive them."”
How Preserve Works
- Gather Your Memories - Bring the box. Seriously. You don't have to perfectly sort fifty years of family photographs before contacting us.
- Choose Your Preserve Options - We'll determine together what you'd like digitized, restored, colorized, organized, or incorporated into a legacy project.
- We Preserve Them- Your collection is inventoried, carefully digitized, corrected where needed, quality checked, organized, and safely stored throughout the process.
- Receive Your Collection- Your originals are carefully repackaged and returned along with your finished digital archive in your chosen delivery format.
- Share Them Again- Send Grandma's photograph to your children. Print one for your sister. Pull up an old family picture without digging through six boxes in the attic.
Your Originals Stay Protected
These aren't replaceable pieces of paper. They're your people.. Every collection is personally handled and inventoried when it arrives. Photographs are kept together and returned in their original organization whenever possible. When your photographs are not actively being worked on, originals are stored in a fire-resistant safe until your project is complete. Your photographs and family materials remain private and will never be publicly shared or used for marketing without your permission.
More Than Photographs
Family history doesn't only live in photographs.
Preserve projects may also include:
- Letters and handwritten notes
- Family recipes and recipe cards
- Newspaper clippings
- Documents
- Children's artwork
- Baby books
- Family memorabilia and paper keepsakes
- Slides and negatives
- Photo albums
Have something unusual? Ask us. Some of the most meaningful pieces of a family's history aren't photographs at all.

FAQ
Do I need to organize my photos before bringing them in?
They do not. Bring the box, bring the envelope, bring the album. They will be returned in the order they are received unless otherwise specified.
Will my original photos leave your possession?
No. Your materials are personally handled locally and aren't mailed to an outside scanning service.
How are my photos stored while you have them?
When they're not actively being worked on, originals are kept in your fire-resistant safe
Can you colorize black-and-white photographs?
Yes—with the caveat that colors are an artistic interpretation unless the customer can provide references.
What happens to my digital images after my project is finished?
Your scanned images are securely retained for one year following project completion. Your project is considered complete on the date you sign your return receipt acknowledging that your original materials have been returned to you. After one year, digital files may be permanently removed from our storage. We strongly recommend downloading and backing up your collection in more than one location for safekeeping.
